Dr. Jake Way

SENIOR OSTEOPATH AND CLINICAL REHAB INSTRUCTOR

Jake has been practicing for 6.5 years and have evolved and changed his practice greatly throughout. Jake is fascinated by the brain and its ability to organise the human body to achieve its goals. Assessing posture and the way somebody stands gives key insights into the brain gives clues as to how someone is likely to move and where their strengths and weaknesses might lie.

He also uses strength testing and mobility assessments to confirm diagnosis. He believes breathing and walking are the two most fundamental movements to optimise in order to achieve optimal function and that optimising the position and capacity of the axial skeleton including rib cage and pelvis are often required before chasing after strength in the extremities.

Jake uses soft tissue techniques, MET and exercise prescription (breathwork, strength work) to achieve outcomes.

Jake enjoys treating patients who have stubborn MSK complaints,I like to work with postural complaints or concerns and sporting injuries. He loves to work with people who are active in the gym space, especially those that are happy for me to tweak a program or teach form to improve outcomes

Outside of work Jake enjoys getting into nature as much as possible. He is very health oriented and loves to be active in the gym. On the flip side he is also a nerd at heart with a strong interest in Sci fi and fantasy books, TV and movies.
