WHAT IS AMBB REFORMER PILATES AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM MAT PILATES?
AMBB Pilates is a combination of traditional Pilates with the strengthening and toning aspects of circuit training. Our variety of classes are performed on a spring resistance apparatus called a Reformer Bed.
I CAN’T MAKE MY CLASS, CAN YOU REFUND THE SESSION?
Unfortunately, no. We have a 12 hour cancellation policy. If you can’t make your class, it is your responsibility to cancel or let us know at least 12 hours before the start time of your scheduled class or you will lose the session. We understand that life can sometimes get in the way, but we need to be fair to all clients. For those clients who can’t make their class within the cancellation policy time-frame you may be charged a fee.
WHAT IF MY CLASS IS BOOKED OUT?
With a maximum of 4 clients per class, our small group classes can get booked out. You can add yourself to the wait list for that class by booking yourself into the class as you would normally. When a place becomes available in the class you will be notified via sms or email.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REFORMER PILATES AND CLINICAL REHABILITATION USING REFORMER PILATES MACHINES?
Reformer Pilates is exercised based using a combination of traditional Pilates with the strengthening and toning aspects of circuit training with qualified reformer instructors.
Clinical rehabilitation utilises Pilates-informed exercise as a treatment tool to improve and maintain function. Our expert practitioners at AMBB can tailor a specific program for your individual needs. Whether you are injured, requiring rehabilitation, working on prevention, or simply building a better you, clinical rehabilitation is the solution to try.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMITED AT AMBB PILATES?
Yes, you have to be over the age of 16 years old to attend a AMBB Pilates class. Our classes are not suitable for young growing bodies.
DO YOU HAVE GIFT VOUCHERS?
Yes, we have gift vouchers available to purchase from our website.
CAN I DO AMBB REFORMER PILATES IF I HAVE AN INJURY?
It will depend on your injury and your road to recovery. It may be appropriate to book in with one of our health professionals that can help with clinical rehabilitation with pilates. It’s best to speak to one of our team members before participating in a class to make sure you’re not putting yourself at risk of further damage.
I’M RUNNING LATE- CAN I STILL ATTEND THE CLASS?
All of our classes include a warm up and a cool down. If you are more than 10 minutes late to your class then you may not be able to join, and the instructor may turn you away from the class.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW FOR MY FIRST CLASS?
Appropriate clothing is important for pilates! We recommend tights, leggings or shorts and either a t-shirt or singlet top. Although most clients prefer to train in bare feet, socks are most welcome. We sell socks at the studio. Please avoid wearing zips as this can damage of machines.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to your first class. This is so you’ll have time to familiarise yourself with the studio. Meet your instructor and have a quick run down on the reformer bed you will use during class. If you’re late to your first class you might not be able to train. No mobile phones during classes (please be respectful to others).
HOW MANY PEOPLE PER CLASS?
With a maximum of 4 clients per class, our small group classes allows our awesome instructors to focus on each individual to achieve maximum benefit. However we also one on one classes.
WHAT IF MY CLASS IS CANCELLED?
We do our best to have all classes running and covered by our team. However, our classes may be cancelled before the start time of the class if there is an emergency or our instructors are unavailable. You will received an email in regards to any class cancellations and will not be charged for the class.
WHAT DO I WEAR?

PRE AND POST NATAL
I’M PREGNANT..CAN I STILL ATTEND GROUP CLASSES?
It depends how far along you are. If you are new to AMBB Pilates, we do however recommend you either have a clinical rehabilitation pilates classes with our allied health professional team!

HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN ATTEND CLASSES AFTER BIRTH?
We ask that you wait until after you receive the all clear from your 6 week GP/Obstetrician check up to make sure that everything is healing well and there are no diastasis recti (abdominal separation) issues.
